WWF CONSERVATION OFFICER VACANCY - VIETNAM NATIONAL

Vietnam JobsWWF, the conservation organization, has a global network active in 96 countries. Through its Indochina Programme Office in Hanoi, WWF is working in partnership with the Forest Protection Department of Thua Thien Hue Province to implement a four-year project, "Green Corridor - meeting global conservation targets in a productive landscape", in central Vietnam. WWF is seeking applicants for two Vietnamese national project staff positions to be based in Hue City, Vietnam. Details are below:

ยท Position : Conservation Officer (National)



The Project Conservation Officer is a 30 month full-time position to the project. The Conservation Officer will be contracted by WWF to assist in developing appropriate strategies for conservation and sustainable resource use management. S/he will undertake biological and socio-economic survey work, were appropriate, work with communities to develop participatory management plans and resource-use strategies, assist in conservation awareness and hunting and enforcement activities, aand other tasks were appropriate.

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Project "Vietnam: Promoting Energy Conservation in Small
and Medium Scale Enterprise" (PECSME) is a joint effort of
UNDP/GEF and the Government of Viet Nam, aiming at
encouraging application of the energy efficient practices
among SMEs in Vietnam, and through that contributing to the
reduction of GHG emission among the sector. The Project will
be implemented by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Three vacant positions for the period of 5 years, starting
from 18 January 2006 and based in Ha Noi, under the above
project are open for Vietnamese nationals.

Summary

UNDP Viet Nam's website (www.undp.org.vn) is one of the most
important and cost-effective public information and
dissemination tools at the organization's disposal. The site
receives over 55,000 unique visitors per month from all over
the world. It is in many ways, UNDP's most important
publication. To date, the website has been a well-
functioning and bilingual site with loyal visitors,
providing basic information, while remaining relatively
up-to-date. It is however in need of a renovation to
simplify the design, improve the navigation and energize the
content. Another major consideration is that, UNDP
headquarters has recently introduced newly designed

consulting assignment that requires a Vietnamese and an international
consultant specialising in reform of land administration. Please pass
onto appropriate lists for the information of potential candidates.

Note that we are after those consultants who have a thorough
understanding of the land administration system in Vietnam and some of
the many efforts already undertaken by GOV and donors to reform the
process. As a team comprising an international consultant and a
Vietnamese consultant who have worked together successfully on similar
assignments in Vietnam could be ideal for undertaking this assignment,
submissions from such teams are very much encouraged.

Consultancy Terms of Reference - Management Development

[The total input is 18 person days for a Vietnamese
consultant, with inputs in April (12 days) and June (6 days)
in 2006.]

Background

TTHRDP is an integrated rural development programme jointly
funded by the Government of Vietnam and the Government of
Finland. The First Phase of the Programme has been completed
and the Second Phase (2004 โ€“ 2008) started in May 2004. In
accordance with the Programme Framework Document for Phase
II, the Programme is focusing on three districts in Thua
Thien Hue Province: Huong Tra, Huong Thuy and Phong Dien.
