Downtown Farmers’ Market is now open every Friday through Dec. 15

With the summer weather kicking in, now is the best time to stroll through the Downtown Farmers’ Market, located along a charming block of San Pedro Street between Santa Clara and St. John streets. The market will be open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. every Friday through Dec. 15. Browse through colorful flowers, gourmet foods and fresh fruits and vegetables from California-certified growers.

Don’t forget to visit this week’s featured guests at the market. See Pete Medina, a strawberry grower from Watsonville, Phantom Gallery artists Kushlani Jayasinha and Elsie Chandler with their paintings and jewelry, and merchant Golden Bay Federal Credit Union.

San Jose Sharks Playoff tickets on sale now

Though the games aren’t scheduled yet, tickets are now on sale for the first two games of the 2006 Stanley Cup playoffs scheduled at the HP Pavilion. Due to the limited number of tickets, individuals will be allowed to purchase up to four tickets total, either two tickets to two games or four tickets to one game. 'EXPANDING HORIZONS' - focuses on students and is designed to expose them to
many new areas and career paths. A distinguished group of leading
Vietnamese-American professionals, VACETS members and friends and
supporters, with a diverse background, comes together to share their work,
their experience and their knowledge in an informative and interactive
forum. Participants will be able to socialize, learn, explore and network
with successful technical, medical, legal, social and business leaders or
other students in a relaxed and cordial atmosphere. Interaction will be
facilitated through 12 oral, poster, exhibit and panel sessions held
throughout the day. Opportunities will be abound to meet with many students
and many accomplished individuals. The day-long event culminates in a formal
banquet with distinguished speakers and a music program rich in Vietnamese

including primary care, laboratory testing, medications, health education,
