Food prices have more than doubled this year in Vietnam, causing financialhardship for many people.
Inflation in Vietnam is projected to hit 18% in 2011, the highest in the
region, led by big rises in the cost of food.
With the price of meat and vegetables more than doubling in the past 12
months, the situation has been worsened by the floods in Thailand, the
world's largest exporter of rice.
Some Vietnamese people now say they spend more than 50% of their wages on
buying food. The BBC's Carmen Roberts reports.
