JOB VACANCIES



Vietnam Conservation Fund (VCF) is one of 04 components of Forestry Sector Development Projects funded by Global Environment Facilities, European Community and Trust Fund for Forests. Forest Protection Department/Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is the implementation agency. VCF is now in need of dynamic and qualified candidates for the following vacancies:



1. A conservation and sustainable livelihood specialist (04 months input)

Requirements:

o At least Master degree in Economic Development or Social Economics or Social Forestry or Protected Area Management.

o Experience in international approaches on community based forest or protected area conservation and management;

o More than 10 years with at least 5 years in management of forest sector development and forest conservation projects.

o Experience in monitoring and evaluation of forest or protected area conservation or development projects.

o Others: working experience in large-scale projects or multi-donor funded projects is preferable, and willingness to travel to and within remote areas of the country.



2. An institutional/legal specialist (02 months input)

Requirements:

o At least Master degree in Economic Development or Social Economics or Social Sciences.

o Experience of institutional issues, participatory approaches and experience of the government’s legal system; international approaches on community based forest or protected area conservation or rural development;

o More than 10 years with at least 5 years in management of rural development or forest sector development or forest conservation projects.

o Others: working experience in large-scale projects or multi-donor funded projects is preferable, and willingness to travel to and within remote areas of the country.



3. Location: The consultants are expected to be based in Hanoi and to work closely with the VCF Secretariat and with the VCF’s three Regional Technical Assistance Teams to review progress of working with the designated two pilots in each of the three regions.



The consultants are expected to consult international and local conservation NGOs that have also been working with a number of the SUFs for lessons learned experience.

5. Candidates shall be selected in compliance with regulations in the Guideline of World Bank on: Selection and procurement of World Bank project staff, issued in January, 1997 and revised in May, 2002.
