Sprint PCS is a big RIP OFF

Current Events and News

09/10/06 - WARNING - Sprint PCS RIP off!!!
I have been a Sprint customer for a long time, at least since '98. A year ago, I upraded my phone to a Toshiba phone with camera, the only reason I did that was because of the deal they had at the time of $200 rebate. I specifically asked the Sprint sales rep if it was OK, because I am a current customer, _NOT_ a new customer. He assured me it was OK.

SPRINT RIP OFF 1: I NEVER got my $200 rebate. Sprint _lost_ my original receipt and then refused to honor a copy of the receipt I sent in. I got busy and never got around to pursuing -- it had already taken 6 months since the time I bought and sent in rebate and receipt!!!

SPRINT RIP OFF 2: Sprint service isn't all that great around where I live (North Sunnyvale, CA), so I finally switched to Cingular. Sprint charged me $150 (!!!!!) for early disconnect! from a service plan that I had never got the rebate for! What the hell!!!

Remember that I have been a Sprint customer since 1998. That's over 8 years, and since I never got the rebate, my plan should not have changed. Essentially, I paid more than $200 for a new Toshiba phone, but kept the same Sprint plan. They should never have charged me for early disconnect, since the "plan" is not valid.

Avoid Sprint PCS! Terrible service, rip off the customers.

I found a web site that has a lot of people pissed off at Sprint. It's here.

09/14/06 - Update on SPRINT PCS saga...
You gotta love this. So I spent today going through Sprint's phone tree hell. After four different places:

  1. 1-888-211-4727 (call for Billing questions). Talked with someone with an accent. I asked for her manager...
  2. Got passed to a Scott. Scott said he can't help me.... OK, I asked for someone who COULD.
  3. Scott passed me to Edwin at Customer Care at 877-349-4413. Edwin said they can't help me.
  4. CC passed me to Emmanuel(sp?) at Rebate Center at 800-477-4127. I was told that since I am no longer a Sprint PCS customer, there is nothing Emm can do to help me (????). If I want to take chance, I can re-sign up as Sprint customer and there _might_ be a chance....

HA HA HA HA HA!!!! (laughing hysterically....)...
Yeah, right.... ;-). I guess I will never, ever use Sprint again...
I am looking to see if there is a complaint form on FCC web site, around here that I can send in...
