Nguyen Dance Company works with artists of different genres and backgrounds to create performance work that truly thinks outside of the box. Our goal is to have the audience leave our performance not quite sure how to explain what they just were immersed in. We want there experience to be one of awe and inspiration. We understand that of every ten audience members there will be on that is experiencing performance art for the first time. We do not want this to be their last. By pairing the best writers, choreographers, composers and visual artists we create a piece of art that is not just a rock show, or a dance performance, or even just a performance piece; again, it's a complete and cohesive experience they will want to return to. Through "Beauty" and the collaborative efforts of Tyler Crosser, Danny Nguyen and Tiffany Barbarash, Nguyen Dance Company aims to strengthen their support of creating and presenting original works of music and dance that promote contemporary expressions of American culture for audiences of all backgrounds, ages and abilities.

The troupe embraces ballet, modern, jazz, ballroom, cultural and folk dances, and theatrical styles all executed with the artists' unique twist of culture and experience to tell stories or describe social issues in the United States. Since its initial creation in 1999, the artists of NDC have had the opportunity to perform in a multitude of communities, events and special occasions. Some recent highlights include the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco , The International Choreographer's Festival in Paris, France , Cali Tonight! at the San Jose Performing Arts Center, the opening reception of the RedCat Theatre in Los Angeles, at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House in HCMC, Vietnam and numerous other events.
NDC's goals are:
1. To encourage cross-cultural understanding through the arts,
2. To provide professional opportunities for dance artists and musicians,
3. To increase participation in the arts, and
4. To develop audiences locally, nationally, and internationally.
Throughout the year, NDC performs at over 50 community events, produces up to 3 original shows, and teaches more than 120 free dance and music classes throughout the Bay Area and beyond. Last year the company performed for more than 12,000 audience members locally, nationally and internationally.
NDC is committed to providing outreach to many people, often the least likely to have access to the performing arts. NDC is also dedicated to introducing new audiences to original dance and music productions and intends to do so through a fusion of cultural elements and contemporary American music and movement.
