Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development Program (AYAD)
Volunteering for International Development from Australia (VIDA)
CECI is a Canadian INGO working in Vietnam since 1991 in the areas of
agriculture and rural development, disaster mitigation and volunteer
placement. CECI is the in-country manager for the AYAD and VIDA
programs in
Vietnam. The AYAD program places skilled young Australians aged 18-30, on
short term assignments to strengthen mutual understanding between
Australia
and countries of the Asia Pacific region and make a positive
contribution to
development. The VIDA program is Australia's newest international
volunteer
program and recruits and supports Australians of any age who volunteer to
work with people of other countries towards the sustainable
development of
their communities. Both programs are funded by the Australian Government
through its development assistance agency AusAID.
CECI is currently seeking to recruit a Vietnamese professional as Program
Coordinator to be based in HCMC. The ideal candidate will be highly
motivated, able to work independently and interested to contribute to
building capacity of people and organisations in Vietnam through these
programs.
Under the direct supervision of the AYAD/VIDA Program Manager, (based in
Hanoi) the Program Coordinator will be responsible for:
. Sourcing assignments and assisting host organisations in completing and
submitting applications
. Preparing and coordinating orientation programs and arrival
logistics for
AYAD and VIDA volunteers
. Conducting mid term review meetings and final evaluation meetings with
AYAD and VIDA volunteers and assist with departure logistics
. Preparing and coordinating regular work plans, update reports and
financial reports for the Program Manager and managing security and
emergency records and information
. Acting as the main contact point for volunteers, host organisations,
Austraining and AusAID in HCMC
. Working closely with the Program Manager and other Program Coordinator
based in Hanoi
Qualifications and Experience required:
. University degree in social sciences or management related field
. 2-3 years experience in project or program management
. Excellent written and verbal English skills
. Excellent communication and networking skills
. Computer literacy
. Able to work independently and autonomously
. Able to travel frequently within Vietnam
