The VUFO-NGO Resource Centre is an initiative of International
Non-Government Organisations (INGOs) in Vietnam, operating with the
support of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO).
Established in 1993, the NGO Resource Centre now has more than 130
member organisations. It is governed by a Steering Committee comprised
of representatives from Vietnamese agencies and international NGOs.
The objectives of the Centre are to:
*Promote, facilitate and contribute to the sharing of information,
resources and experiences within and between INGOs, their partners and
local organisations, in order to improve the quality and impact of their
work in Vietnam
*Strengthen the relationship and enhance the dialogue between INGOs and
other development ‘actors’ in Vietnam, including government agencies,
donors and local organisations
Based in Hanoi, the Co-Director works in partnership with a Co-Director
appointed by the People’s Aid Coordinating Committee (PACCOM). The
Co-Director will be an energetic, outgoing and results oriented
individual with highly developed networking and representational skills
and a demonstrated commitment to the continuing development of Viet Nam.
The Steering Committee places great value on the Co-Director’s ability
to work in effective partnership with PACCOM and on facilitation skills
to support the continued development of the vision and mission of the
NGO Resource Centre. The Co-Director will also manage a small office.
The role of the Co-Director of the NGO Resource Centre offers the
opportunity for the right individual to play a key and creative role in
efforts to ensure greater coordination and effectiveness of initiatives
undertaken by international NGOs in partnership with Vietnamese agencies.
Vietnamese and non-Vietnamese applicants will be considered.
