The Community Management Unit (CMU) of the Swiss Development
Corporation’s (SDC) Nam Dinh Urban
Development Project (NDUDP) is now recruiting a Vietnamese
professional for a full-time managerial
position based in Nam Dinh beginning o/a January 1, 2006 for a
duration of 18 months. In support of
the democracy decree, the CMU works to build the capacity of community
based groups to plan and
carry out small “livelihood improvement“ projects of their own
design. Under the guidance of the
Component Senior Advisor, the successful individual will be
responsible for (a) managing a 4-person
team (40% time) and (b) project implementation with community groups
(60%). Successful candidates
will be:
• Self-starters who work well both independently and in a team
• BA or equivalent degree in community management, training,
sociology, economics or related field
• Minimum three years relevant working experience including 1 yr
management experience
• Experience and high interest in working at the community level
• Good English communication skills (oral and written)
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office applications)
Experience with project management, participatory rapid appraisal,
community profiling, community
organizing, and/or participatory project design and implementation are
all highly desirable.
